Shorttail products are usually a small set of items generating a lot of conversions versus Longtail which features a huge range of items which only create 1 or 2 conversion. Midtail describes everything inbetween. This flow helps you to determine which items can be categorized in which buckets to better understand which items should be better kept on stock consistently and to derive other optimisation possibilities.
