Vienna, April 13, 2023 - Shopstory has won the third City Pitch of the #glaubandich Challenge 2023 in the SaaS (FinTech, InsurTech & App Support) category. The startup was able to prevail against strong competition from all over Austria. With this success, the young team led by founders Sebastian Schwelle and Robert Böhm has secured one of the coveted final spots in Austria's largest startup competition, the #glaubandich Challenge 2023 organized by Erste Bank and Sparkasse, the startup service of the Chamber of Commerce and Trending Topics. Shopstory has launched SAAS software that enables online store operators to increase their sales and save costs at the same time. Over 150 stores are already using Shopstory, improving Return on Ad Spent (ROAS), or revenue per ad euro spent, by up to 52%.

Shopstory was founded in 2020 by Sebastian Schwelle, Robert Böhm and Roman Schweiger The startup is funded with around 2 2 million euros from investors (tecnet equity, startup300, Patrick Pöschl, Hansi Hansmann, Coinpanion founding team) as well as subsidies (austra wirtschaftsservice, FFG) and already makes over one million euros in annual recurring revenue (an important key figure in the software-as-a-service business)

"We are super happy that we could prevail against the very strong competition. It's great to see that there are such good startups in Austria presenting their business models at the Challenge," said Daniel Peier, Senior Project Manager at Shopstory, who made the pitch. "We are now full of verve going into the finals."

The final of the #glaubandich Challenge will take place on May 24, where Shopstory will pitch for the title of "Startup of the Year."

The jury of the City Pitch consisted of Nina Wöss from Fund F as jury spokesperson, Kambis Kohansal Vajargah from the Startup-Service of the WKO, Berthold Lehner from GründerCenter Erste Bank Oesterreich, Daniel Horak from CONDA and Jon Margot Alla from Mastercard. The jury praised Shopstory for its business model, which has already been able to show traction and strikes a chord with the market.

In addition to the ticket to the finals, Shopstory received prize money of 1,000 euros from Erste Bank and Sparkasse as well as two licenses for the digital training platform wîse up from the Chamber of Commerce's start-up service.

The City Pitch was part of the #glaubandich Challenge 2023, which is taking place for the fifth time and offers startups from various industries a stage. The Challenge is organized by Erste Bank and Sparkasse, the startup service of the Chamber of Commerce and Trending Topics, and supported by Mastercard.
